12 Bens from the Connemara Smokehouse

At the Connemara Smokehouse we recognise that everything we do has an impact on the environment.

We are trying to minimise any adverse environmental impacts associated with our activities and continuously improve our environmental performance.

We aim to:

  • Comply with all relevant environmental legislation and industry standards
  • Reduce our use of non-renewable resources and of energy produced from such resources
  • Reduce and recycle waste wherever practical
  • Prevent and minimise risks of water pollution
  • Use all resources as efficiently as possible
  • Increase the percentage of recycled materials we use and materials from renewable sources
  • Pass on the benefits of improved environmental practice to our staff and visitors
  • Strive for continuous improvement in our environmental management

We intend to do this by:

Reviewing our environmental impact annually to ensure that we maintain high environmental standards

Specifically we are:

Sourcing our fish locally means that we reduce the distance travelled, it also means that we are supporting the local economy and community, which are key factors in creating a sustainable future.

  • We are certified with The Irish Organic Trust to produce Connemara Smokehouse Smoked Irish Organic Salmon, Smoked Irish Organic Honey Roast Salmon, Smoked Irish Organic Roast Salmon and Irish Organic marinated Salmon – Gravadlax
