Our Products
Whilst the Connemara Smokehouse specialise in Wild Smoked Salmon, all of our products are available in Wild, Organic and Farmed. Salmon is high in Omega 3 and has excellent nutritional values.
We obtain our Wild Salmon locally, Organic Salmon from Clare Island and Farmed Salmon from selected small farms on the West Coast of Ireland. The fish used in our products come from the pure Atlantic waters off the West Coast, which means an unrivalled quality and freshness.
From here the meticulous process of hand filleting, pin-boning, dry-salting, smoking and slicing begins. The Connemara Smokehouse also has a long history of fishing as well as smoking and this includes our wonderful Tuna products. In 1991 Graham and his father John, along with the Irish Sea Fisheries Bord undertook the research into line fishing for tuna in Irish waters to develop a sustainable, environmentally friendly way of catching tuna. From here we developed our unique tuna products which have gained recognition worldwide as the very best available, and has even gained us a place as one of Rick Steins’ Superheroes in his book of Food Heroes.
We pride ourselves on our excellent array of Smoked and marinated fish products to make your mouth water for more. Our Smoked Mackerel plain and peppered is simply the best available, our Kippers are traditional and juicy to the last bite, our Smoked Cod is a lovely golden colour and makes a great smoked fish pie and we have many other excellent seasonal products that we prepare when fish is available.
