This is a totally different product from the Traditional Smoked Salmon and has to be tasted to be believed. We lightly salt the salmon and prepare it for hot smoking over the fire. Hot smoking is a complex and skilful technique where the salmon is placed in the kiln and the fire is slowly allowed to rise in temperature upto 100ºC. The combination of beechwood, salmon and salt slowly brought up to this temperature creates a moist, flaky, cooked salmon texture with rich beech-wood flavours. This gives real depth and intricate taste to many dishes and leaves a memorable after taste on your palate The flavour of the Connemara Smokehouse Roast Smoked Salmon is unique, cooked to a pink colour and with a firm texture and a most appetising aroma.
Our Roast Smoked Salmon is wonderful cold with salad and mayonnaise or horseradish. Try it served hot with pasta and a cream sauce, in a fish pie, a superb pate or on the BBQ, also ideal for buffets.

A sweeter variation of the Roast Smoked Salmon. The smoked fish is complimented beautifully by the sweet honey flavour. We begin this lengthy process by first curing the salmon with the traditional salting. It is then marinated in honey and prepared for smoking.
The Hot smoking is a complex and skilful technique where the salmon is placed in the kiln and the fire is slowly allowed to rise in temperature up to about 100ºC. During the hot smoking, we brush the salmon several times with honey. The end result is a cooked, flakey texture with an infusion of flavours from the salmon, salt, smoke and a beautiful, deep honey glaze. It retains a delicate smooth, moistness, sweet taste that can be fully appreciated on its own or with other foods.
Flake this through a nice crisp salad…if you have any left after opening the packet!!!!
It can be served hot or cold with a salad for starter, lunch, main course or buffets. The Connemara Smokehouse Honey Roast Smoked Salmon is ideal, lightly warmed and served with baby potatoes and green tossed salad or on a bed of roast red peppers with lemon and string beans.
