Our tuna are large and active predatory schooling fish, which are line caught in an environmentally friendly way to ensure sustainability. We have developed a cure that is unique to the Connemara Smokehouse and has become a firm favourite. Our Award-winning Smoked Tuna slices feature premium albacore tuna. Our Tuna is high in Omega 3 oils and is a healthy, feel good food with a succulent, meaty bite and has subtle smoke and ocean tastes. This tantalising tuna is created and prepared for today’s traditional and adventurous cooking styles. This is a tuna unlike any you have ever tasted. An inspired addition to contemporary stir fries, pasta, salads, appetisers, as well as, a variety of Oriental and Asian dishes.
For a very simple, pretty and tasty appetiser, toast some white bread, give it a light scrape of mild cream cheese and cut it into small pieces. Cut a thin slice of cucumber, slightly smaller circumference than the rounds of toast and place on top. Now curl a slice of Connemara Smokehouse Smoked Tuna and place on top so you end up with the edge of the toast slightly wider than the cucumber and then the tuna on top. Garnish with wedges of fresh lime and prepare to be wowed.

Connemara Smokehouse Honey Roast Smoked Tuna is smoked to perfection which requires a lengthy, labour intensive process, but the results speak for themselves. It is gently hot smoked after careful curing and marinating in honey. This technique produces an incredible combination of flavours along with a moist, meaty texture, adding yet another dimension to our fabulous, fresh tuna.
The Connemara Smokehouse Honey Roast Smoked Tuna comes pre-portioned so you simply warm through for a filling hot meal, or serve cold with salad for lunch or buffets.
For an amazing dish to wow your guests or just to enjoy yourself. Chop some Honey Roast Tuna into cubes and do the same with a blue cheese of your choice (if you don’t like blue cheese, this also works well with parmesan shavings), about 80% fish to 20% cheese. Tumble the fish and cheese loosely together and put on top of a pear or avocado that you have cut in half and de-cored.
Place under the grill for about 1 minute until the bits of cheese visible around the outside begin to melt. Serve on a nice white plate with a drizzle of balsamic dressing around the outside and for the finishing touch, sprinkle lightly with chopped walnuts. Serve this dish and be prepared to be the most popular dinner destination of your friends and family.
